Meeting Minutes

December 2023

1. Great turnout with 25-30 folks, lots of great food, and a lot of both homebrewed and commercial beer. Also, a lot of beer was donated to the Heavy Seas folks.

2. 2024 dues are to be paid to Rob K. via cash, check, or Venmo @Rob-Kiernan-CRABS

3. Rumor has it there’s an event at Brewer’s Art this Saturday 12/23 starting at 5:00 PM but there’s nothing on their website about it.

November 2023

1. Guild holiday party:

  • Saturday December 2 from 6:00 to 10:00 PM at Bay Life (Brookeville Beer Farm’s production facility) at 7901 Oceano Ave, Unit 20-24, Jessup.

  • This year’s benefitting charities are Pints for Prostates, House of Ruth, Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, and Animal Advocates of Howard County.

October 2023

1. The 13th annual Homebrew Extravaganza at the new Checkerspot Brewing location featured several CRABS beers. Chris + Christa took 8th place out of 19 with their Belgian dubbel.

September 2023

1. MASHOUT was a great success, with great weather for the most part, and lots of good people, beers, and food. Most of the work in making this event possible was done by CRABSters, particularly Trevor 1.0.

2. BaltiBrew will NOT have ChiliBrew next month due to difficulty in getting permits.

July 2023

1. Robust attendance, and many beers were brought.
 
2. HomebrewCon had only a few Maryland attendees, and vendor participation was lighter than usual. Next year’s HomebrewCon is slated to be held in conjunction with the GABF in Denver in October 2024.
 
3. MASHOUT will be held August 17-20 at the same Cumberland location we've used since 2019. Registration is open at campmashout.com. The CRABS food and attendance list is at

June 2023

1. CRABS had a good showing at Pints4Paws. Some attended, and others poured beer. There were 6 CRABS beers on tap.

2. We will do a Light Rail pub crawl on Saturday April 1. The tentative plan is to go to 3 stops and visit a brewery or two at each. There is an email group for planning this; to be added to it, contact Ben at the address you get the minutes from every month.
