1. Heavy Seas is undergoing construction so they are closed Wednesdays but open Thursdays so we will be having our meetings on Thursdays until further notice.

1. We had our holiday party at Ben’s house. There was lots of great beer and food, and we did a 750 swap. Brewer of the Year awards were handed out. The final standings were:
1. The 12th annual Homebrew Extravaganza will be held next Wednesday October 26th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Checkerspot. Competitors can set up at 5:00 and sample other competitors’ beers before serving their own. Attendees pay just $10 for all they can drink, and competitors enter free. 1. Guild summer picnic was held on Saturday June 4 at Piney Run Park in Sykesville. Weather and venue were both nice. Good attendance. The usual location at Patapsco State Park has already been reserved for next year.
2. Annapolis Homebrew Club’s Pints 4 Paws was held on Saturday June 11 at the Navy Stadium. A few CRABSters attended and/or served beer. Annapolis Homebrew Club was basically the only other homebrew club present. Approximately $28,000 was raised for SPCA.
1. The Guild summer picnic will be Saturday June 4, noon to dusk, at Piney Run Park, 30 Martz Road in Sykesville, pavilion #4. Bring a food dish as usual. There will be a hedonistic beer competition. Entrance fee is $6 per vehicle for Carroll County residents, and $12 per vehicle for everyone else (this should give some incentive to carpool). Also, folks over 62 years of age get in free, so carpool with a senior!
1. Big Brew will be on Saturday May 7 behind MDHB. Contact Chris Anderson if you plan to brew – there is room for more brewers. Food will be brats, sauerkraut, veggie burgers, pizzas, plus whatever folks bring.

1. HomebrewCon will take place at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh on June 23-25. See https://www.homebrewcon.org/ for details. We might participate in Club Night but maybe not because we don’t have a lot of members confirmed as going. The Guild might have a table if not enough Maryland clubs participate. Registration starts on March 23, with early bird pricing ($70 discount) until April 23. There are several hotels stumbling distance from the venue.
